About the scientist Dr. Geoff Davies is a Senior Fellow in the Research School of Earth Sciences of the Institute of Advanced studies at the Australian National University. He was educated in Australia and at Caltech and Harvard in the USA. He held university appointments in the USA and lived there for a total of fifteen years before returning to Australia and his present appointment in 1983. He is a well-established geophysicist at the international forefront of his field of plate tectonics and mantle convection. More....
